Lynne Sharkey at Columbia University for the graduation of her step-daughter in May 2019

This site is dedicated to the memory of Lynne Ferguson Sharkey. Lynne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

She had a sharp sense of humor, a kind heart, and an optimistic can-do outlook on life. She was a friend and confidante to many.

In February of 2020, Lynne was diagnosed with peritoneal carcenoma, a relatively rare form of cancer. Though diagnosed in the late stages of the disease, she fought hard and corageously, never losing hope, her sense of humor, or her faith.

On September 26, 2021, Lynne lost her fight. Surviving her were her husband, Bernardo Burstein, her sons Paul and Adam Sharkey, Paul's wife Monique, Adam's wife Jessica, her grandchildren Ansley, Abeni, and Titus, stepchildren Jessica and Salomon Burstein, brothers and sisters, cousins, and many friends.
